TUNIS (TUNISIA) (ITALPRESS) – The Tunisian Civil Protection service carried out 1,256 interventions on August 24 and 25, including 281 firefighting operations. According to data released today by the Tunisian Ministry of the Interior, these interventions also comprised 320 rescue and assistance operations following road accidents, 621 rescue missions unrelated to traffic, eight beach-related operations, and 26 interventions of other types. The figures regarding fires follow weeks marked by numerous blazes across various parts of Tunisia, which required the deployment of significant ground and aerial resources for firefighting efforts. In this context, Italy sent a Fire Department Canadair aircraft to Tunisia last July to assist local authorities in combating forest fires.
