Ter Stegen and Barcelona bid farewell

BARCELONA (SPAIN) (ITALPRESS) – A separation is imminent, but by mutual agreement and without friction. Barcelona and Marc Ter Stegen know that the German goalkeeper’s long spell at the club is coming to an end.

Having arrived in Catalonia in 2014 to replace Victor Valdes, Ter Stegen has achieved everything there is to achieve, becoming one of the world’s best goalkeepers. At 34, and after a difficult season spent on loan at Girona and a long series of injuries, he wants to relaunch himself elsewhere, especially since Barça is well-covered with Joan Garcia, the starter, and Wojciech Szczesny, the assistant.

The German has a contract until 2028 and a very high salary; Barcelona, according to Mundo Deportivo, is willing to sell Ter Stegen for a reasonable fee. The goalkeeper’s plan is to spend pre-season with Barça to regain his fitness and, in the meantime, listen to any offers that may come in.
