SAO PAULO (BRAZIL) (ITALPRESS) – Seven years after his last coaching stint, as head coach of Cameroon, Clarence Seedorf is returning to management. The 50-year-old former Dutch midfielder has been announced as the new head coach of Corinthians.

“Taking on this challenge is an honour, but also an enormous responsibility. I am here to give everything I have and build a team that fights for every ball, every minute, and every victory,” Seedorf said in his first statement.

He is expected to arrive in Sao Paulo in the coming days to replace Fernando Diniz, who was sacked on Wednesday.

Seedorf ended his playing career in Brazil, spending a year and a half at Botafogo. This will be his fifth managerial appointment. He previously coached AC Milan for 22 matches in 2014, Shenzhen from July to December 2016, and Spanish side Deportivo La Coruña for 16 games in 2018, recording just two victories. He also managed Cameroon’s national team, the Indomitable Lions, from 2018 to 2019, a spell that ended with their elimination in the round of 16 at the Africa Cup of Nations.
