
MADRID (SPAIN) (ITALPRESS) – After Alejandro Grimaldo and while waiting to sign Kang-in Lee, Atlético Madrid has officially announced its second signing for next season: Morten Hjulmand.
The 27-year-old Danish midfielder, formerly of Lecce, has signed a contract until 2031 and arrives from Sporting CP for €40 million plus €5 million in bonuses, which, according to the Portuguese press, are tied to his appearances and the club’s Champions League campaign.
Hjulmand will compete for a midfield spot with Cardoso and Koke, while Thiago Almada is on the verge of leaving Atlético. According to “Olè,” River Plate has reached an agreement to secure the 25-year-old Argentine for €20 million for 50% of his contract.
