ROME (ITALPRESS) – Following Brazil’s defeat to Norway and the Seleção’s elimination from the 2026 FIFA World Cup, images of a tearful Neymar quickly spread across television and social media around the world.
“I tried and tried again, but it’s over. I started here, and I finish here,” said the 34-year-old Brazilian, confirming his retirement from international football.
Among those who came to his defense was Zlatan Ibrahimović, speaking to Fox Sports. “People will say he could have done more. But he is an extraordinary talent, an incredible player. His skills and technique are unbelievable,” the former Swedish striker said of Neymar.
