ROME (ITALPRESS) – Five Cambuur fans were injured after being hit by fireworks thrown from the away section occupied by Feyenoord supporters. The Eredivisie club announced the incident.
“We regret having to report that five fans were injured, suffering burns, hearing damage, and eye injuries. Obviously, our full attention and care are with these injured fans, and the entire club expresses its deepest sympathy to them,” the club said in a statement. The match—won by Feyenoord 5-2—resumed after a 10-minute interruption.
“It must be clear that setting off and firing fireworks is absolutely unacceptable and has no place in a football stadium. Together with the authorities, we will do everything possible to track down and punish those responsible,” Cambuur said.
