Brazil, Ancelotti close to a contract extension until 2030

RIO DE JANEIRO (BRAZIL) (ITALPRESS) – Carlo Ancelotti will try this summer to bring Brazil national football team back to the top of world football, but even if he fails, he could get another opportunity.

Samir Xaud, president of the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF), confirmed that negotiations for the Italian coach’s contract extension until 2030 are well advanced, to the point that an announcement could arrive even before the next World Cup.

“Only a few legal details still need to be finalized, both by his lawyers and ours. But I believe that before our departure for the World Cup we will be ready to announce everything,” Xaud said.

Having taken charge of the Seleção in May of last year, the 66-year-old coach from Reggiolo had already expressed his willingness some time ago to extend his experience with Brazil beyond the World Cup in the United States.

So far, Ancelotti’s record as Brazil coach stands at five wins, two draws, and three defeats.
