PARIS (FRANCE) (ITALPRESS) – Paris Saint-Germain will be without Nuno Mendes during the most critical part of the season. The Portuguese full-back faces several weeks on the sidelines due to an injury to his left thigh, sustained during last night’s 3-1 victory over Strasbourg.
This comes as a major blow to Luis Enrique, who will be without the defender for the Champions League clash against Barcelona, scheduled for Tuesday at 9:00 PM at the Parc des Princes. Initial indications regarding the player’s condition came from the PSG manager himself following the league match.
“I’m not sure if you could call it an injury,” the Spanish coach remarked, referring to the substitution of the Portuguese player in the 86th minute—shortly after the team’s second goal. However, medical examinations conducted today have clarified the situation: Mendes has sustained a muscle injury to his left thigh and will be unavailable for the coming weeks, as officially confirmed by the club.
