Infantino: “We need to narrow the global divide, but not everyone wants to”

ROME (ITALPRESS) – “I believe that, whether in Africa, Asia, or the Caribbean, everyone recognizes, accepts, and respects the work we have done together over the past ten years. We have transformed FIFA, made it what it is today, and it is important to always remember this. We are here with a single goal: to grow football in every corner of the world,” said FIFA President Gianni Infantino after meeting with the Caribbean Football Union (CFU) in the Dominican Republic.

“This is our task, this is our job. We want to grow football in each of our 211 countries. Some, unfortunately, don’t need it and don’t want others to grow, but we must reduce this gap between the largest countries and all the others,” explained the FIFA president, who then added: It is important to engage, to dialogue, to express points of view and opinions: a lot has happened in recent weeks, and it is important that you listen, that you are able to express your feelings as well.”
