According to British outlet “Sky Sports UK,” talks with Aston Villa are now at an advanced stage, with the 31-year-old German midfielder ready for a new chapter following the expiration of his contract with Bayern Munich. Recent reports also confirm that Villa have reached an agreement in principle with Goretzka, who is expected to undergo a medical before completing the move.
The move for Goretzka accelerated after Joao Palhinha’s proposed transfer fell through, with the midfielder ultimately joining Benfica. But Aston Villa’s transfer activity may not end there: should Ollie Watkins move to Al-Hilal, his replacement could be Nicolas Jackson, who has returned to Chelsea following his loan spell at Bayern Munich. The Blues, however, would reportedly prefer to sell the Senegalese striker on a permanent basis, with an asking price starting at €75 million.
