PARIS (FRANCE) (ITALPRESS) – At the end of the World Cup, Didier Deschamps will end his long tenure as France coach. But he’s unlikely to be unemployed for long. According to “RMC Sport,” Real Madrid is eyeing the former midfielder for next season. After the failure of Xabi Alonso, Alvaro Arbeloa is also disappointing, and the White House may opt for another coaching change at the end of the season.
Deschamps, who has been in charge of Les Bleus for 14 years, has demonstrated his ability to manage complex dressing rooms and deliver results: with Monaco, he reached the Champions League final in 2004, then immediately led Juventus back to Serie A in the post-Calciopoli scandal, and in 2010, he won Ligue 1 with Marseille.
And he also did very well with France, winning the 2018 World Cup and losing the 2022 final only on penalties. Add to this his excellent relationship with Mbappé and Tchouameni, as well as his knowledge of Spanish, another plus. For now, the current France coach doesn’t want to discuss his future, but he certainly has plenty of options.
