SAO PAULO (BRAZIL) (ITALPRESS) – Fernando Diniz beats off competition from Tite and is the new coach of Corinthians: a contract runs until December. Diniz, who replaces the dismissed Dorival Junior, will make his debut tomorrow in Argentina in the Libertadores match against Platense. The new Timao coach, however, will have to above all reverse the trend in the league, where the team is sixteenth and struggling to score (only five goals in the last nine games). A former Corinthians player and dismissed in February by Vasco da Gama, Diniz boasts a Libertadores victory on the bench of Fluminense in 2023 and a brief stint as coach of the Seleçao, leading them for six games in the last World Cup qualifiers before being replaced by Dorival Junior.
