ROME (ITALPRESS) – Congo and Iraq are the final two teams to qualify for the 2026 World Cup, which will feature 48 teams for the first time and will be held across Canada, Mexico, and United States from June 11 to July 19.

In their respective playoff finals, Congo defeated Jamaica 1-0 after extra time thanks to a decisive goal in the 100th minute by Burnley defender Axel Tuanzebe. Meanwhile, Iraq secured a 2-1 victory over Bolivia with goals from Ali Al-Hamadi (10’) and Aymen Hussein (53’), making Paniagua’s equalizer (38’) irrelevant.
