PARIS (FRANCE) – “The best decision would be to play on another date.” Luis Campos, advisor to PSG, confirmed the club’s position regarding the request to postpone the Ligue 1 match against Lens, which falls between the two legs of the Champions League quarterfinal against Liverpool.
The request was firmly rejected by Lens, but Campos, speaking on “RMC Sport,” explained: “We have nothing against Lens. It would be the same with any other team. PSG’s position is very clear and is the result of thorough consideration by all of us of the advantages and disadvantages this entails, not only for PSG but also for French football.”
Lens are currently second in the league, one point behind PSG, who still have a game in hand—the match against Nantes, postponed to prepare for the two-legged tie against Chelsea.
