ISTANBUL (TURKEY) (ITALPRESS) – N’Golo Kanté is officially a new player for Fenerbahce, coached by Domenico Tedesco.
Just over four months before the start of the World Cup in the United States, Mexico, and Canada, the 34-year-old French midfielder of Malian origins is leaving Al-Ittihad to play in Turkey, where the transfer window is open until Friday. Since moving to Saudi Arabia from Chelsea in July 2023, Kanté won the league and cup double last season. In total, he has played 105 matches in all competitions for Al-Ittihad, scoring 10 goals and providing 11 assists.
Now, the French international (65 caps, 2 goals), a World Cup winner in Russia (2018) and European silver medalist in France (2016), returns to European competition, as Fenerbahce is still in the Europa League and will face Nottingham Forest in the playoffs. In his long career, Kanté, who played for Boulogne and Caen in his homeland, was one of the key architects of the 2016 Premier League title won by Claudio Ranieri’s Leicester City.
