VALLETTA (MALTA) (ITALPRESS/MNA) – Aidan will represent Malta at the Eurovision Song Contest 2026 in Vienna with his song Bella after winning the Eurovision Malta Song final on Saturday night.
The 26-year-old singer, Aidan Cassar, topped the scoreboard with 283 points, beating Matt Blxck, who finished second with 268 points. Aidan secured 113 points from the jury and 170 from the public vote, while Matt Blxck led the televoting with 200 points.
Performing in cowboy attire, Aidan delivered a jazzy orchestral pop ballad blending English, Maltese and Italian lyrics. His minimalist staging, featuring shifting shadows and cascading rose petals, set his performance apart for its originality.
After receiving the trophy from last year’s winner Miriana Conte, Aidan thanked the public for turning his dream of representing Malta at Eurovision into reality.
The 70th Eurovision Song Contest will take place at Vienna’s Wiener Stadthalle, with semi-finals on 12 and 14 May and the grand final on 16 May.
