Sent off in the Champions League against Chelsea, the player had requested and been granted time off to recover, especially mentally. This led to a spiritual trip to Israel and a Christmas holiday spent with his family in Uruguay. Now he’s back, although Flick and his staff will try not to rush things given the delicate situation.
