The next World Cup, in 2030, will be played between Morocco, Portugal, and Spain, while Saudi Arabia will host the tournament four years later.
The two countries are therefore looking further ahead, and although there is time, “we must start planning for this now.” The successful experience of Euro 2012 would provide a foundation from which to build, even though the context is very different, as Ukraine is now a country in need of reconstruction. But the very prospect of hosting a World Cup could “attract the attention of investors.”
“We will work on it; we continue to be a country oriented toward the greatest sporting achievements. It’s part of our national culture, and we want to develop it despite all these difficulties.” “A joint Ukrainian-Polish bid for the World Cup would be much more than a major sporting event,” Vasyl Mokan, member of the Ukrainian Parliament and vice-chairman of the Committee on Youth and Sport, told Politico. “It’s an idea full of potential.”
