LONDON (ENGLAND) (ITALPRESS) – Premier League interest has put the brakes on Francisco Trincao’s move to Saudi Arabia. The 26-year-old Sporting Lisbon forward appeared to be on the verge of joining Al-Ahli—a deal that would have netted the Leões €50 million and quadrupled the player’s current €2.5 million-a-season salary.
However, according to Record, Trincao himself has put negotiations on hold after Manchester City and Tottenham entered the race for his signature. City could part ways with Savinho and have identified Trincao as a replacement; he is highly rated by Maresca and is well known to Sporting sporting director Hugo Viana from their time together at the club. Meanwhile, Spurs view the Portuguese player as the ideal candidate to rotate with Kudus on the right flank. Liverpool is also reportedly monitoring the situation, prompting Trincao to pause his move to Al-Ahli.
