LIVERPOOL (ENGLAND) (ITALPRESS) – Arne Slot has one year left on his contract and will remain the manager who led Liverpool to the title last year. Yet the Dutchman’s permanence is far from certain, although until a few days ago he stated he saw no reason why he shouldn’t be retained.
The Reds’ inconsistent season, which has yet to secure a Champions League spot, risks weighing on the final assessment of Slot, and a strong candidate to replace him is Andoni Iraola.
The Spaniard will leave Bournemouth at the end of the season, where he has been breaking the club’s points record for three years. Linked to Chelsea and Manchester United, who have however decided to focus on Xabi Alonso and Carrick, respectively, Iraola could be Liverpool’s next choice, as they play for the final Champions League spot on Sunday against the Spanish manager’s Bournemouth.
