MADRID (SPAIN) (ITALPRESS) – Marcos Llorente will no longer wear the Spain shirt. A world champion last July, the 31-year-old Atletico Madrid midfielder announced his retirement from the national team on social media.
He explained that the decision had been made even before the tournament.
“It was an honour to represent my country and be part of this history,” Llorente said. He made his debut for La Roja in 2020 and has since made 27 appearances, including three at the most recent World Cup.
