UEFA weighs investigation into Infantino’s 16-year tenure

ROME (ITALPRESS) – Revelations by The Telegraph regarding Gianni Infantino’s alleged mistress—who reportedly received a substantial severance package while both were working for UEFA—are shaking European football’s governing body. As reported by L’Équipe, UEFA is reportedly considering launching an investigation into the Italian-Swiss official’s sixteen-year tenure at the organization, spanning from his entry into the legal and commercial department in 2000 to the end of his term as General Secretary in 2016. Yesterday, FIFA stated that “recent media reports have included baseless claims and blatantly false accusations concerning FIFA and its President. Speculation and innuendo should not be presented as fact, and repeating an accusation does not make it true.”
