According to Bild Sport, a contract extension is ready for the player, which will make him one of the highest-paid players in the squad, doubling his current €13.5 million gross salary and extending his contract until 2031.
This move is intended to ward off potential suitors, but also to deter the player who, according to Bild, dreams of one day wearing the Real Madrid jersey.
