LISBON (PORTUGAL) (ITALPRESS) – The partnership between Sporting Lisbon and Morten Hjulmand could be nearing its end. According to A Bola, last summer the club reportedly promised the Danish midfielder that he would be allowed to leave during this transfer window for a fee below his €80 million release clause—reportedly around €40–50 million.
Although reports in Spain have linked him with Atlético Madrid, the former Lecce player’s most likely destinations appear to be the Premier League and Serie A. With a move to Juventus now seemingly off the table, Hjulmand has reportedly become a top target for AC Milan, where new manager Ruben Amorim knows him well, having strongly supported his move to Sporting in 2023.
The midfielder also has plenty of admirers in England, ranging from Arsenal to Manchester City, whose sporting director is former Sporting executive Hugo Viana.
