Rodrigues threatens Seleçao “Give me back the CBF or the World Cup is at risk”

RIO DE JANEIRO (BRASIL) (ITALPRESS) – Who knows what idea Carlo Ancelotti had. After his appointment as technical commissioner of Brazil, everything happened. The president of the Confederation who had pursued him for a long time and finally hired him, namely Ednaldo Rodrigues, was removed by a verdict issued by the Court of Justice of Rio de Janeiro which also entrusted the management of the new elections, announced for May 25, to his deputy Fernando Sarney.

Rodrigues, however, did not give up and, addressing the Supreme Court with the request that the CBF be returned to him, put everyone on alert explaining that FIFA regulations prohibit institutional interference in sports politics: “The International Football Federation and Conmebol do not recognize as legitimate the federal representatives appointed by a judge, all this means that the CBF risks sanctions that would have devastating effects on the system such as exclusion from all international competitions”.

So, Rodrigues claims, FIFA could reject Ancelotti’s list of players called up for the matches against Ecuador and Paraguay, in short, no World Cup qualifiers and consequently, always according to the removed president, no World Cup for the Seleçao.
