NEWCASTLE (ITALPRESS) – Newcastle and Italy are raising concerns about the condition of Sandro Tonali, who was sidelined with a shoulder injury during the Reds’ 3-2 win against Liverpool.
The Italian midfielder left the pitch early, just like Joelinton. Post-match, manager Eddie Howe addressed the conditions of both players: “These are real injuries. It would be a huge blow for us if they weren’t available for the next match,” he explained.
“Sandro isn’t well; he was in a lot of pain. I don’t know the exact extent of his injury and Joelinton’s, but both aren’t promising. They could be out for a while,” the manager told Sky. The player will undergo tests in the next few hours. Italy coach Gennaro Gattuso is waiting, and will officially announce his first squad list on Friday.
