ROME (ITALPRESS) – Defending champion Ademola Lookman is not among the list of 10 candidates for the title of best African Footballer of the Year. The list was officially announced by CAF, the Confederation of African Football, and was drawn up by “a jury of experts composed of members of the CAF Technical and Development Committee, experienced coaches, African legends and media representatives.”
The clear favorite is former Inter Milan player Achraf Hakimi, a Champions League winner with PSG. The Moroccan’s main rival is Liverpool’s Egyptian, Mohamed Salah. Here’s the list: Frank Anguissa (Cameroon, Napoli), Son Mayele (Democratic Republic of the Congo, Pyramids FC), Mohamed Salah (Egypt, Liverpool), Denis Bouanga (Gabon, Los Angeles), Serhou Guirassy (Guinea, Dortmund), Achraf Hakimi (Morocco, PSG), Oussama Lamlioui (Morocco, RS Berkane), Victor Osimhen (Nigeria, Galatasaray), Iliman Ndiaye (Senegal, Everton), Pape Matar Sarr (Senegal, Tottenham).
