ROME (ITALPRESS) – Tottenham has been fined £75,000 by the Football Association following homophobic chants by Spurs fans at Old Trafford during the match against Manchester United, played on 29 September. Tottenham is accused of failing to prevent “its spectators and/or supporters (and anyone posing as such)” from engaging in “offensive, abusive, indecent or insulting behaviour with an explicit or implicit reference to sexual orientation around the 49th and 79th minutes”. After the match, Tottenham strongly condemned the episode, calling the chants “abhorrent” and “unacceptable” and reiterating their commitment to cooperate with law enforcement to identify those responsible.
