ROME (ITALPRESS) – A shake-up at the helm of the Egyptian national team. The Football Association has decided to dismiss Hossam Hassan, appointing Ali Maher—currently the manager of Ceramica Cleopatra, who sit fourth in the national league—as his replacement.
The 52-year-old new head coach will lead the Pharaohs in their upcoming matches against Malawi, scheduled for November 13 and 17, which serve as qualifiers for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations.
Maher takes the role fresh off winning the Egyptian League Cup in the 2024/25 season. Egypt currently sits at the top of Group B with four points, following a draw and a win in their first two matches.
