In recent days, English media outlets have reported that the club has been found guilty of 114 breaches of the Premier League’s financial regulations, although no official ruling has been announced at this stage.
Should the club ultimately be found guilty, the Citizens could face sanctions ranging from a simple warning or fine to a points deduction or even expulsion from the Premier League. The latter scenario could prompt some players to consider leaving the club.
According to Football Insider, Arsenal and Real Madrid have already made contact with Erling Haaland’s representatives. The 26-year-old Norwegian striker is under contract until 2034 and there is no relegation release clause in his deal. However, should City actually find themselves outside the Premier League, the club could be forced to make some painful sales.
