Egypt and UAE talk on security in the Red Sea and Bab el-Mandeb

CAIRO (EGYPT) (ITALPRESS/MNA) – Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Badr Abdelatty received a phone call from the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, during which the two ministers discussed the latest regional developments.

According to Egypt’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Abdelatty and Abdullah bin Zayed focused in particular on the situation in the Strait of Hormuz and developments in Yemen in light of the recent escalation.

The two ministers stressed the importance of addressing the challenges affecting the region and their repercussions on the security of the Red Sea and Bab el-Mandeb.

They also reiterated the need to respect international law and ensure the safety and freedom of international navigation, while stepping up efforts to contain tensions and prevent the conflict from spreading, thereby contributing to strengthening security and stability in the region.
