TRIPOLI (LIBYA) (ITALPRESS) – General Fawzi Al-Mansouri, head of military intelligence in eastern Libya, was killed in an attack outside his home in the Al-Sayyida Aisha neighborhood of Benghazi, where a car bomb exploded against his vehicle. According to videos posted on social media, the attack struck Al-Mansouri while he was in his car in front of his home.
The general was one of the most senior military commanders in the Libyan armed forces, and his killing was unexpected, considering the improved security situation in Benghazi in recent years. No responsibility has yet been claimed.
Local authorities have launched an investigation to identify the perpetrators of the attack.
