ROME (ITALPRESS) – Chelsea have entered the race to sign John Stones, according to The Athletic.
Stones is available on a free transfer following the expiration of his contract with Manchester City. Despite limited playing time last season, the England international has seen his stock rise after an impressive FIFA World Cup campaign.
Chelsea are now set for a transfer battle with Arsenal, who have been pursuing the central defender for some time.
At 32, Stones has attracted interest from clubs both in England and abroad. In recent weeks, he has also been linked with Inter Milan and Juventus.
