Tottenham makes a move for Tonali, €115 million required

LONDON (ENGLAND) (ITALPRESS) – Tottenham is making a move for Sandro Tonali. After a difficult season—in which they secured safety at the very last moment—Spurs are looking to bounce back with Roberto De Zerbi at the helm. They have already signed Andy Robertson and Marcos Senesi on free transfers, and negotiations for Brighton’s Jan Paul van Hecke are well underway. However, Tonali could prove to be the major marquee signing; according to The Athletic, contact has already been initiated with Newcastle.

Yet, Newcastle is standing firm, demanding £100 million (approximately €115 million) for the former AC Milan player, who is also reportedly attracting interest from Manchester City. Tonali is under contract until 2029, and the Magpies are under no pressure to sell following the lucrative transfer of Anthony Gordon to Barcelona. Tottenham remains hopeful, however: De Zerbi needs to strengthen the midfield, and the Tonali deal could be funded by player sales, with Romero, Richarlison, Vicario, and Dragusin among the potential candidates to leave.
