Fifa World Cup 2026: Brazil reigns supreme in social media, dominating in followers and engagement

MILAN (ITALPRESS) – Brazil’s account is the most followed overall among the forty-eight teams participating in the FIFA World Cup finals. Following closely behind, with a narrow gap, is Portugal’s account, and further behind, France’s. Arcadia announced this, adding that Brazil’s account also leads the rankings for absolute increases, with a growth of 2.9 million new followers in the last 30 days.

Of note in this Top 10 are Morocco, which gained 278,000 followers, and Japan, which gained 182,000 new followers. Brazil’s account continues to generate the highest share of engagement. Also noteworthy are Morocco’s performances, with 20.7 million reactions, and Senegal, which rounded out the Top 10 with 6.3 million interactions. The total number of posts published by the 48 accounts in the last 30 days is just under 232 million interactions.

While the total increase in new followers is 6.7 million, leading the top 10 most followed TikTok accounts is France, poised to reach 17 million followers, followed by England, and closely followed by Portugal with 10.5 million followers.

TikTok continues to be a growing platform, even in countries without a strong football tradition. Among the top 10 accounts with the highest growth, alongside Brazil, Portugal, and France, are Algeria, Turkey, and Morocco.

This trend is also reflected in the Top 10 for interactions. In fact, the Ivory Coast account ranks fifth among the most reactive accounts, followed by Algeria in eighth and New Zealand in tenth. The total interactions across all TikTok accounts of the national teams participating in the World Cup totaled 88.5 million, while the positive balance of new followers reached 19.3 million.
