VALLETTA (MALTA) (ITALPRESS/MNA) – President of Malta Myriam Spiteri Debono welcomed United Nations Tourism Secretary-General Shaikha Al Nuwais during her official visit to Malta for the 72nd Session of the Commission for Europe within the United Nations World Tourism Organisation.
During the meeting, President Spiteri Debono congratulated Al Nuwais on her recent appointment and expressed confidence in continued efforts to promote tourism as a catalyst for economic growth, employment, and stronger people-to-people connections.
The President also thanked the Secretary-General for her commitment to advancing sustainable tourism, reaffirming Malta’s ambition to remain a leading advocate for excellence in the sector.
Shaikha Al Nuwais praised Malta’s achievements in tourism and highlighted the strong relationship between the country and the UN Tourism General Secretariat.
