BARCELONA (SPAIN) (ITALPRESS) – Although the first complaint filed after the first leg of the quarterfinals against Atlético Madrid was declared inadmissible, Barcelona is back on the attack. As previously announced by president Laporta, after the second leg of the Metropolitano, which saw the Blaugrana win 2-1 but be eliminated in the Champions League quarterfinals, the club announces that it has filed a new complaint with UEFA challenging the refereeing decisions.
Barça believes that between the first and second legs “there were several refereeing decisions that did not comply with the Laws of the Game, due to an incorrect application of the rules and a failure to adequately intervene by VAR in clearly significant cases.” The serious errors contested by Barcelona “had a direct impact on the progress of the matches and the final result of the quarterfinal, resulting in significant sporting and financial damage to the club.”
