Ghana appoint Carlos Queiroz as their new head coach

ACCRA (GHANA) (ITALPRESS) – Carlos Queiroz will lead Ghana at the next World Cup. After Addo’s dismissal, the Black Stars have decided to appoint the 73-year-old Portuguese coach as their new head coach. He will thus be playing his fourth World Cup overseas, having previously led his country’s national team in 2010 and Iran in 2018 and 2022. A former coach of Sporting and Real Madrid and longtime assistant to Ferguson at Manchester United, Queiroz has in recent years led several national teams, including Egypt, Qatar, and Oman. Ghana, in Group L, will make their World Cup debut against Panama on June 18 in Toronto, followed by matches against England (June 23) and Croatia (June 27).
