ZURICH (SWITZERLAND) (ITALPRESS) – “It is unacceptable that incidents occurred during two German Cup matches in Germany. Racism or any form of discrimination has no place in football,“ FIFA President Gianni Infantino posted on social media, commenting on the weekend’s events. Infantino stated that FIFA’s Players’ Voice Panel will be in contact with the German Football Association.
“All of us, the Players’ Voice Panel, and the entire football community stand firmly with all those affected by these events: we are committed to ensuring that players are respected and protected and that competition organizers and law enforcement authorities take appropriate action,” Infantino added.
There were two alleged incidents of racism: one involving Schalke 04’s Antwi-Adjei in the match against Lokomotive Leipzig, and the other during the match between RSV Eintracht and Kaiserslautern. Incidents which – among other things – occurred two days after Bournemouth striker Antoine Semenyo reported being insulted against Liverpool.
