SEOUL (SOUTH KOREA) (ITALPRESS) – “The hardest decision I’ve ever made in my career.” Tottenham captain Heung-min Son uses this phrase to announce his departure from Spurs after 10 intense and dedicated years. A journey that began in 2015 when he arrived from Bayer Leverkusen, scoring 173 goals in 454 appearances, and culminating with his triumph, as captain, in the Europa League final against Manchester United. Son’s announcement comes from Seoul, his native South Korea, where the Londoners are on tour and will face Newcastle in a friendly on Sunday.
“I arrived in North London as a child, I was very young, a kid who didn’t know how to speak English, I’m leaving as an adult and having been at this club for all these years is a source of enormous pride for me,” said the 33-year-old South Korean, whose contract expires in 2026 and is one step away from a move to Major League Soccer to play for Los Angeles FC.
