NEW YORK (USA) (ITALPRESS) – It was expected, and it’s here. Major League Soccer, applying its regulations, has handed one-match suspensions to Lionel Messi and Jordi Alba, both Inter Miami players, for missing last Wednesday’s match between the MLS All-Star team and the Mexican Liga MX team (a 3-1 victory for the Americans).
The two will therefore miss the league match against FC Cincinnati. The regulations include a provision designed to encourage player participation in the event, establishing that, barring injury, players called up must participate in the All-Star Game or be required to miss their team’s next match.
