VALLETTA (MALTA) (ITALPRESS/MNA) – Malta’s business leaders remain largely unconcerned with recent US trade restrictions, despite global warnings of rising protectionism. According to the latest PwC Malta CEO Confidence Tracker, two-thirds of CEOs surveyed expect little or no impact on their businesses from the new US tariffs.
The survey, conducted in June and involving over 50 CEOs of large companies, highlights Malta’s limited direct exposure to the US market, which accounts for only 3–5% of its international trade.
This confidence comes as the Maltese economy is forecast to grow 4.1% in 2025, well above the euro area’s modest 0.9% projection. Although this growth is slower than the post-pandemic rebound, Malta remains among the most resilient economies in the EU.
