ALGIERS (ALGERIA) (ITALPRESS) – Three dead and over eighty injured. This is the toll of the serious accident that occurred yesterday evening at the Stade Olympique du 5 Juillet 1962 in Algiers, where a security barrier broke just as fans were getting ready to celebrate the title.
“The Beni Messous university hospital has taken care of 38 injured, while three deaths have been recorded”, the Algerian Ministry of Health stated in a note on Facebook, adding: “The Ben Aknoun hospital has treated 27 injured, while the Bab El Oued hospital has treated 16“. In addition to expressing condolences for the death of the three fans, the president of the Algerian Football Federation extended to the injured “his wishes for a speedy recovery, hoping for a safe and healthy return to their families”.
