Villa Pamphili, Malta connection sought in shocking Rome double homicid

VALLETTA (MNA/ITALPRESS) – Italian authorities and journalists are urgently appealing for help from anyone in Malta who may have information about a double murder that has shocked Italy. Investigators believe crucial answers may lie on the island, where the main suspect is thought to have lived and possibly married his victim. Daniele Bonistalli, a journalist and correspondent for the Italian national TV programme Chi l’ha visto?, is actively seeking assistance from Italians and Maltese residents.

He is investigating the case of Rexal Ford, born Francis Kaufmann, a 46-year-old American arrested in Greece. Ford is accused of killing his partner and their six-month-old daughter, whose bodies were discovered on 7 June in Villa Pamphili, one of Rome’s largest parks. It is believed that Ford spent time in Malta and that he may have married the woman there. Italian investigators are now examining Maltese hospital and civil records to determine if the couple’s child was born on the island. The identity of the woman, known only as Stella, remains uncertain.

She is believed to be from Russia or Ukraine, and her connection to Malta is now a key lead in the investigation. “I will be in Malta in the coming days to look for information,” Bonistalli said in his public appeal. “If you know anything, even small details, please contact me on Messenger. Anonymity will be fully respected.” Bonistalli’s appeal remains one of the few direct channels for those who may be able to shed light on the victims’ lives in Malta.

Meanwhile, the Malta Police Force declined to comment, saying the case is outside their jurisdiction and referred enquiries to the Italian authorities.
