VALLETTA (MALTA) (ITALPRESS/MNA) – A Maltese jury has convicted key members of the notorious Maksar gang for their role in the 2017 car bomb assassination of investigative journalist Daphne Caruana Galizia, marking a major development in Malta’s most high-profile murder case.
Robert Agius, 41, and Jamie Vella, 42, were found guilty of supplying the bomb that killed Caruana Galizia. The verdict, delivered by an 8-1 jury majority after a six-week trial, also found the two guilty of complicity in her murder and illegal possession of explosives. The Court will deliver the sentence next Tuesday.
