ROME (ITALPRESS) – One week after the end of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, Kylian Mbappé published an open letter to the French people. The France captain expressed his gratitude to the nation’s supporters.
“You never let us down, not even in the most difficult moments, even when we deserved it the least. This story was written by millions of hands, not just the eleven players on the pitch, all with the same passion,” Mbappé wrote.
“It has been an incredible journey. The semifinal defeat hurts, and it will continue to hurt for a while. I accept the Golden Boot with pride, but it would have been much better to come home with the World Cup trophy. This French team is made up of proud players who always give everything,” the France captain concluded.
