LONDON (ENGLAND) (ITALPRESS) – Newcastle United have made a major move, having officially signed Nick Woltemade from Stuttgart for €85 million, the largest transfer in the English club’s history. The 23-year-old German striker has signed a long-term contract with the Magpies and becomes the fifth summer signing for the first team. A product of the Werder Bremen youth academy, Woltemade made his Bundesliga debut at just 17 in 2020, setting a record for precociousness.
Having joined Stuttgart last season, he stood out with 17 goals in 33 appearances and confirmed his prominence at the Under-21 European Championship, where he won the top scorer award. Standing 1.98 meters tall and already with two caps for the senior national team, the striker will join Germany in the next few days for the World Cup qualifiers against Slovakia and Northern Ireland. At Newcastle, he will wear the number 27 jersey.
