ROME (ITALPRESS) – From the 2025-26 edition, the Champions League finals will be played at 6:00 PM instead of 9:00 PM, UEFA announced today. “This decision is designed to improve the overall matchday experience for fans, teams, and host cities by streamlining logistics and operations, while also delivering several tangible benefits,” the statement reads. “Our goal is to make matchday a truly enjoyable experience for all those who wish to actively participate, while also creating a welcoming atmosphere that makes it easier for families and children to attend the most important football match of the season.”
“While a 9pm kick-off is suitable for midweek matches, an earlier kick-off on Saturday for the final also signifies an early conclusion, regardless of extra time or penalties, and gives fans the opportunity to enjoy the rest of the evening with friends and family, reflecting on the most heartfelt match of the season,” said UEFA President Aleksander Ceferin.
