ROME (ITALPRESS) – Currently training with the Spanish national team, Manchester City midfielder Rodri spoke about his future in an interview with Onda Cero radio. Under contract until 2027, the 2024 Ballon d’Or winner was asked about the possibility of one day playing for Real Madrid, a rumor that has been circulating for several years.
“Having played one season at Atletico Madrid (2018–2019, ed.) does not prevent me from going to Real Madrid one day,” replied the Madrid-born player, who joined the Colchoneros at age 11 and signed his first professional contract with Villarreal at 19.
“Many players have followed this path,” he added, referring to Juanito, Hugo Sánchez, Bernd Schuster, and Thibaut Courtois.
