LEIPZIG, GERMANY (ITALPRESS) – Finishing third in the Bundesliga and securing qualification for next season’s UEFA Champions League was not enough to keep Ole Werner in charge: he will not be RB Leipzig’s head coach next season.
The club has announced its split from Werner, who joined last summer after spending four seasons managing Werder Bremen. His assistants, Tom Cichon and Patrick Kohlmann, will also leave the club.
According to German media reports, Argentine coach Martin Demichelis is the leading candidate to take over the Leipzig bench. Demichelis, a former Bayern Munich player, has been in charge of Mallorca since February.
